Here is all the advertisement you are going to see... If you like Titlebar Date, take a look at our other 100% freeware programs at Titlebar Software's homepage. Our main programs are the "Tray Folder" programs. Tray Folder programs cost between 5 and 10 dollars. Take a look at them, if you like, at:

---------

TO INSTALL:
Decompress the downloaded .zip file to a folder on your computer and run the Setup file located in the de-compressed folder.

DO NOT MOVE THE SETUP FILE UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE RUN THE TITLEBAR DATE PROGRAM.

Once the program is started, the day of the week and the date will be displayed in the active window's title bar. ONCE YOU HAVE TITLEBAR DATE RUNNING, RESTART YOUR COMPUTER. You do not have to set the day or the date. The program gets this information from your computer's operating system.

There is an entry made to your Start Menu's Program list for Titlebar Date. There are several shortcuts created in the Titlebar Date folder of the Programs List. Delete any of them you want to. Delete the Titlebar Date folder from the Start Menu's Programs List if you want.

--------

If you are installing more than one Titlebar program, you may find that the two programs have similar features. For instance, Titlebar Time is very similar in operation to Titlebar Date so only one of the programs can be running. The programs cannot both run at one time. That would be pointless. If the situation does occur where two of our programs are running at the same time and there is a conflict, the date and time display will flash and let you know there is a conflict and you should uninstall one of the programs. For instance, Titlebar Date is also part of the "Tray Folder" programs. So, the date display, in the title bar, will flash. Use the Windows Task Manager to stop Titlebar Date and Uninstall Titlebar Date since Tray Folder includes Titlebar Date and Tray Folder is a better piece of software. If you do install a Tray Folder program, it will look for for Titlebar's freeware programs, on your computer. If any are found the shortcut that starts the program will be deleted. The shortcut that starts a Titlebar program automatically when Windows start will be located in the registry at- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

TO RUN:
Titlebar Date is a desktop enhancement and will auto start when you start windows. If other users of your computer want to use Titlebar Date, place a shortcut to Titlebar Date in the Start Menu's Startup folder under their profile.

Note:
Titlebar Date's executive file is a very small file so there will be almost no startup lag as a result of Titlebar Date starting when you start your computer.

*****There is no tray icon installed to clutter up your tray area, so you will need to USE WINDOW'S TASK MANGER TO STOP THE PROGRAM from running.***** No files, folders, or registry entries will be made to your computer that are going to result in advertising try to sale you something you do not want or need. No spam or spyware will result from the use of this software. Any and all files, folders, or registry entries made in order for Titlebar Date to work will be removed automatically when the program is uninstalled.

The Titlebar Date program will sense when the title bar will have a clutter of information if the date is displayed. For Instance, if a window is opened that is less than approximately four inches wide will not have the date displayed in the titlebar. Also, upon opening windows with rather long window titles, of 40 characters or more, the date will not be displayed.
------------

Installation:

Decompress the downloaded .zip file to a folder on your hard drive. Run the "Setup" file located in the decompressed folder. A shortcut to the program will be created for in the Start Menu's program's list. This shortcut can be deleted but has been placed in your programs list in case you need it to get Titlebar Date started. On most systems Titlebar Date will start automatically. However, with all the various security features on some computers a shortcut to Titlebar Date may need to be placed in the Startup folder of the Start Menu's Programs list.

Once you have the program installed, Titlebar Date will only run under the user profile under which the program was installed. If you want it to run under another user profile, place a shortcut to the Titlebar Date executive file in the "Startup" folder of the Start Menu's Programs list under that user profile.

------------

Windows XP: (Other Microsoft operating systems will be similar.)

To end the program and stop the day and date from being displayed- right-click on the Taskbar (usually located at the bottom of the screen) and a menu will appear. Select "Task Manager" on the menu that appears. Once the Task Manager's window comes up, locate the Titlebar Date among the running applications under the "Applications" tab or the "Titlebar Date.exe" among the running processes under the "Processes" tab, click on it and the click the "End Process" button. Since the small executive file is lunched automatically you probably will not very often need to use a shortcut to the program to start it.

------------

Windows 98:

Using Titlebar Date with Windows 98 will be similar to using it With Windows XP. However, Hit Ctrl-Alt-Del, all at once, to use "Task Manager" to get a list of the tasks running under Windows 98 in order to select Titlebar Date and stop it.

------------

Windows NT & 2000:

I haven't tried this program on Windows NT or 2000 but it should work on these operating systems. Let me know how it works out if you use it with 2000(jharper124@yahoo.com). (I tried it... it works.)

------------

In order for the date and time to be displayed in various formats download and try one of Titlebar Software's "Tray Folder" programs. You will be able to change the time format and turn off the time display in the title bar using the tray icon's right-click popup menu.

------------

TO UNINSTALL:
Use Windows Task Manager to stop Titlebar Date from running then run Add Remove Programs, accessible through Control Panel, and locate Titlebar Date in the programs listed. Highlight Titlebar Date and click remove. Titlebar Date will be completely removed from your computer by uninstalling it.
